About

Deborah Heffley Jones

“We are submerged in color.”

Deborah Jones’ work represents an amalgamation of saturated color and reflective light. Inspired by the bold colors of Southwest Colorado and the subdued light of Orcas Island,

Jones brings a career of design to her paintings. She works with burnished Venetian plaster, acrylic glazes and gold leaf. All of the plaster is colored on demand, applied and burnished using steel trowels and power tools. The multi-layered process brings another level of depth to the work creating translucence between colored layers.  Strategically applied gold leaf captures and reflects the slightest light.

Jones resides on Orcas Island.
